New mum Connie Britton was inspired to kickstart the adoption process to become a parent after losing her father in 2008.
The former Spin City star had long harboured a desire to have a family of her own, but it wasn’t until her dad’s death that the single actress realised there was no point in delaying her plans any longer.
She got in touch with an adoption agency and, earlier this month (Nov11), became a first-time mother to nine-month-old Ethiopian boy Yoby.
But that doesn’t mean Britton, 44, has given up hope of finding love.
She tells People magazine, “I’ve always hoped to find … (click post title to read more)

Who could possibly survive giving birth to the maybe-Antichrist in a house full of would-be baby-snatchers, both living and dead? Sadly, not Vivien.
In the end, it was too much: Ben had been such a small man; Hayden, a crazy, home-wrecking bitch. Poor Viv had eaten brains, fought with ghosts, been impregnated by a Rubber Man, visited the loony bin and after all that, died a deflated death in American Horror Story’s penultimate episode, “Birth.”

Last week came the revelation that Violet Harmon (Taissa Farmiga) had been dead for weeks. Now, AHS viewers know that her mother, Vivien (Connie Britton), has also died in their haunted house. The move to L.A. has not been great for Vivien who was not only raped by Tate dressed as Rubber Man, but also died while birthing her twins…only one of whom survived. EW talked to star Connie Britton about Vivien’s roller-coaster ride as well as what this means for Britton and Vivien’s presence for season 2.

Over the past 15 years, we’ve come to know actress Connie Britton through some of the the great TV shows —Spin City, Friday Night Lights and the latest, American Horror Story (season finale airs Wednesday, 10 p.m. FX) — she’s starred on. We thought it was a good time to find out what the off-screen Britton is all about:
On being labeled “Hot” at 44: “I’m just flattered and blown away by it,” says the Boston native. “Listen at this point my reaction is, ‘Oh, thank god.’”
Gym avoidance:
Hiking and swimming dominate Britton’s stay fit routine: “It is a hilarious part of … (click post title to read more)

Ordinarily, Connie Britton hates horror. In fact, she’s so scary-movie averse, she couldn’t get through a recent episode of her own show, American Horror Story, FX’s new psychosexual thriller from the creators of Glee and Nip/Tuck. “I started watching it at night, and I just couldn’t,” she says. “I had to turn it off. I’m such a baby.”
Yet Boston-born Britton was intrigued by the premise of the show, which is why she signed on despite her aversion to all things spooky: A troubled couple, Ben and Vivien Harmon, leave Boston with their teenage daughter to start over in sunny LA, … (click post title to read more)

PC: Given BroadwayWorld’s gigantic GLEE audience, this is like the perfect marriage of the two Ryan Murphy worlds now that I am talking to you about AMERICAN HORROR STORY.
CB: Oh, that’s so awesome! I love that.
PC: Are you a GLEE fan or is this your entrée into the Ryan Murphy universe?
CB: Well, you know what? It’s not that I’m not a big GLEE fan, it’s just that I am not a big TV watcher. But, what I have seen of GLEE I just love and admire so much. It would not be doing justice to the real fans out there … (click post title to read more)

#2 American Horror Story (Wednesdays at 10/9c on FX)
Warning: American Horror Story is not for the faint of heart. Ryan Murphy’s new show could not be further away from his family-friendly musical series, Glee. American Horror Story is disturbing, eerie, sexy, and even has some dark comedy infused in its veins. To describe what the show is about is almost futile, as each episode takes the characters down another terrifying story.
Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton are Ben and Vivien Harmon — a couple suffering from the repercussions of a violent miscarriage, torrid affair, and move across the country. Their daughter, … (click post title to read more)

Tami Taylor is a mom in real life!
Friday Night Lights’ Connie Britton has adopted a baby boy from Ethiopia, her rep confirms to Us Weekly. The single 44-year-old actress, who now stars on FX’s new hit American Horror Story, adopted 9-month-old Yoby — a nickname for Eyob, his given name — after a three year adoption process.
Meanwhile, the first-time mom has other exciting ventures on the horizone, too: Although Friday Night Lights went off the air in February, Britton told Us in October that a new movie based off the cult hit is “happening for realsies.” (Britton also starred in … (click post title to read more)

“Isn’t it great?” says Connie Britton, calling in to Zap2it from the set of “When Angels Sing,” a movie she’s shooting with Harry Connick Jr. in Austin, Texas. “So awesome. I was thrilled!”

“Eighteen years,” Tami Taylor angrily whispered in last week’s episode of “Friday Night Lights,” referring to the amount of time she’s been Coach Eric Taylor’s loyal and supportive wife. Two words that packed a punch because of the way that Connie Britton quickly delivered them, sneaking them in with a piercing glance at her befuddled husband as she allowed uninvited guests into her home.
Then, just as deftly, Tami turned on her Southern belle charm: “Can I get ya’ll anything — ice tea? Water?”
It’s the kind of subtle moment viewers of “Friday Night Lights” have come to expect from the series, … (click post title to read more)
