What do brains taste like? Does Jessica Lange do her Tennessee Williams thing when the cameras aren’t rolling? (Yes!) How difficult is it to cut an umbilical cord, Dylan McDermott? Who doesn’t approve of Connie Britton screaming about vaginas outside Murder House when there is a real-life convent across the street? Is the place really haunted? When TVGuide.com snooped around visited the Harmons’ haunted house on a mighty chilly day last month, just as the cast and crew of American Horror Story put the final touches on filming “Birth,” the season’s penultimate episode (Wednesday at 10/9c on FX), creepy, gross … (click post title to read more)
Who could possibly survive giving birth to the maybe-Antichrist in a house full of would-be baby-snatchers, both living and dead? Sadly, not Vivien.
In the end, it was too much: Ben had been such a small man; Hayden, a crazy, home-wrecking bitch. Poor Viv had eaten brains, fought with ghosts, been impregnated by a Rubber Man, visited the loony bin and after all that, died a deflated death in American Horror Story’s penultimate episode, “Birth.”
Last week came the revelation that Violet Harmon (Taissa Farmiga) had been dead for weeks. Now, AHS viewers know that her mother, Vivien (Connie Britton), has also died in their haunted house. The move to L.A. has not been great for Vivien who was not only raped by Tate dressed as Rubber Man, but also died while birthing her twins…only one of whom survived. EW talked to star Connie Britton about Vivien’s roller-coaster ride as well as what this means for Britton and Vivien’s presence for season 2.
Dylan McDermott, who plays Ben Harmon, the troubled hero of “American Horror Story,” loves “how strange and weird and creepy” it is.
“I was just so fascinated with the idea of psychological horror,” he says.
Not so his co-star, Connie Britton, who plays Vivien Harmon and admits that she couldn’t watch Murphy’s “Nip/Tuck” because it was too gory.
“I’m literally afraid of horror movies,” Britton says. “I’m afraid of the genre.”
So what is she doing in “American Horror Story” and, just before that, the remake of “Nightmare on Elm Street”?
“I was going to try to face my fears,” Britton says. “Really — I … (click post title to read more)
More often than not, networks and cable channels cut an episode order because it’s just not living up to expectations.
That’s not the case with “American Horror Story,” the new hit FX series. In fact, the opposite is true. The cable channel was so excited about the series, it put it on the air before it was ready to be complete. And now, there just isn’t enough time to complete a two-hour season finale.
Fans instead will have to settle for 90 minutes.
“The trimming of the finale is a result of ‘American Horror Story’s’ very aggressive production schedule, which left no breathing … (click post title to read more)
PC: Given BroadwayWorld’s gigantic GLEE audience, this is like the perfect marriage of the two Ryan Murphy worlds now that I am talking to you about AMERICAN HORROR STORY.
CB: Oh, that’s so awesome! I love that.
PC: Are you a GLEE fan or is this your entrée into the Ryan Murphy universe?
CB: Well, you know what? It’s not that I’m not a big GLEE fan, it’s just that I am not a big TV watcher. But, what I have seen of GLEE I just love and admire so much. It would not be doing justice to the real fans out there … (click post title to read more)
Since it premiered on October 5, FX’s American Horror Story has steadily grown into one of the network’s most popular shows, hovering around the 3 million viewer mark weekly. Last week’s episode, the first of a two-part Halloween-themed frightfest, proved particularly popular and so FX wasted little time announcing a second season filled with more thrills, chills, chuckles and dudes in rubber suits. Stars Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott — who play estranged husband-and-wife Vivien and Ben Harmon who are forced to deal with the bizarre goings-on in their new home, the so-called “Murder House” — recently spoke with the … (click post title to read more)
#2 American Horror Story (Wednesdays at 10/9c on FX)
Warning: American Horror Story is not for the faint of heart. Ryan Murphy’s new show could not be further away from his family-friendly musical series, Glee. American Horror Story is disturbing, eerie, sexy, and even has some dark comedy infused in its veins. To describe what the show is about is almost futile, as each episode takes the characters down another terrifying story.
Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton are Ben and Vivien Harmon — a couple suffering from the repercussions of a violent miscarriage, torrid affair, and move across the country. Their daughter, … (click post title to read more)
“Glee” creator Ryan Murphy is ready to scare viewers.
Murphy’s new drama, “American Horror Story,” will premiere on FX on Oct. 5. The series stars Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton as Vivien and Ben Harmon, a couple who move from Boston to Los Angeles to try to rebuild their marriage after a miscarriage and an affair. But, as the title of the show suggests, there is something nefarious going on in their new house.
